Garage door test
Everybody seems to have the same problem a with remote operation of the garage door.
This has been a common problem for all of us for many months.
Yesterday, I spent some time testing the garage door opener at 900 Marshy Cove.
Basically, The door failed to open about two-thirds of the time.
Several distances from next to the door to 15 feet away yielded the same result.
Interestingly, when the remote was used inside the garage, it worked 100 % of the time from distances of up to 40 feet.
The same result was observed with a second remote.
Sentry Management had our garage door contractor send a technician to check it out.
A new radio receiver has been ordered. The new receiver will be installed within a week.
My theory is that the metal door acts as a shield which partially reduces the strength of the signal. A more sensitive receiver should overcome this problem.
The other condo building on Cattail Cove has an identical system that works consistently.
Stay tuned!
