Ironman, October 7, 2017

Gearing up for IRONMAN Maryland Oct. 7

One of the world’s most grueling endurance events comes to Dorchester County on October 7. That’s right, it’s time for IRONMAN Maryland, a 140.6-mile triathlon, with more than 2,000 athletes coming from all around the world! Get a close-up view of the action by volunteering during the days before or on race day — a whopping 1,400 volunteers are needed! Volunteer here. Also, if you live in Dorchester, consider renting out a room or your whole house for the weekend to athletes by listing your house on Airbnb. On race day Oct. 7, spectators are welcome to cheer on these inspiring athletes. Here are the best places to watch. The finish line is at Long Wharf Park in Cambridge. In 2016, the two IRONMAN races in Dorchester brought nearly $5 million to the regional economy! Show your support by joining IRONClub Maryland!
