All residents should note that the gate code will be changed on December 1, 2019.  The new and old code will both work until November 30.

Unit Owners and residents were sent a mailer with the new code.  Code changes have helped to reduce the number of trespassing vehicles.

Clickers are not affected by this change.
Clickers can be acquired at the Sentry office for $27.00

Attention: GATE CODE CHANGE! May, 2019

To all Deep Harbour Unit Owners

In the past year, the DHMA Board has initiated a more robust security and safety program.  Completing the fence line, limiting non-resident pedestrian access, and vehicular traffic has all been a first step in the process.  More projects are in the planning stage. We will need to balance cost with effectiveness when deciding on our next steps.

Included in an upcoming mailing is a notice regarding gate code changes, remote openers, and new pedestrian gate locks.  If you are a landlord, please convey this information to your tenants. The DHMA does not communicate with tenants directly.
Please note that as the gate code is abused more commonly, we plan to change the code more frequently.  In other words, get a remote opener.  Residents should not be using the code to enter.  They are available from Sentry at our cost of $27.00.

Also, encourage visitors to use the call box. Is your listing current?

Best Regards,
Deep Harbour Master Association Board of Directors
George Breig- President

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Notice to all Deep Harbour Unit Owners:
·       Gate code change
·       Remote transmitters aka clickers
·       New keypad locks on pedestrian gates
Gate code change
From time to time, the universal gate code is changed. Over a period of months, trespassing increases as the code ages.  To deter trespassing, the code will be changed more frequently in the future. As of May 1, a new code will be in force. The old code will be disabled on June 1, 2019.
NEW CODE …# NNNN (will be mailed to owners)
Passing this code to non-residents breaches the security of our community. Do not give it to outsiders like pizza delivery drivers.
Visitors should use the call box to enter. Each resident’s name is stored in the call box with an associated speed number.  Give your visitors and delivery drivers the speed number, not the general access code.
Not in the call box?   Call Sentry at 410-221-0398 ext 57100
Remote transmitters
Each resident should have a remote transmitter also known as a clicker. A clicker makes life easy. Code changes do not affect clickers. Entry is easy and safe when raining, snowing, and in the dark. These are available at the Sentry Office for $27.00
New Key Locks on Pedestrian Gates
Pedestrian gates are now equipped with keypad locks.  The entry code will be  N-N-N-N (mailed to all owners) which will be effective on May 15.
New Remotes for Gates Available at Sentry
New remote transmitters are available.
The cost of each remote is $27 and will only be available and assigned to unit owners.  They can be acquired at the Sentry office.
Each button controls a different gate.
The big button “I” opens Cedar St
“II” opens Trenton St
“III” opens 700 Cattail Cove
Each remote has a unique sequence number which will enable management to control the use of the remotes if lost or stolen.
The remotes will remain the property of the Deep Harbour Master Association.
Each owner may "lease" 2 remotes.
Additional remotes may be acquired for a $100 fee. See formal policy on the tab on this site.
Gate Entry: Best Practices
Why do we have gates?
  • Gates are there to limit traffic through our community
  • Gates are there to keep non-residents out.
  • Gates define Deep Harbour as private property
We need to get smarter. The general access code should not be given to non-residents.
Start using the call box for visitors.
Here's how it works,
  1. Look up your name in the directory,
  2. Note the "speed number" next to your name. write it down.
  3. Now enter that number in the keypad. Your phone should ring.
  4. When you receive the call, greet the visitor, then press 9.
  5. If all is in place the gate will open.
  • If your name is not in the box, call Sentry so that they can enter the information. 410-221-0398
  • Yes, the phone number can be a cell phone or a landline.
  • Yes, with a cell phone, you can be anywhere and open the gate.
In the future, it is the DHMA's objective to eliminate the general access code.
We currently have multiple vehicles who use our property for a short-cut. Some enter to use our trash dumpsters. some have been known to park their cars for carpooling.
FOBS? FAQs & Status as 0f July 28, 2018
FAQ: When will the 900 Marshy Cove FOBS start working?
Answer: unknown
The original call box failed on April.
We purchased the system in May,
The hardware was installed in early June.
As of today, 41 of the 48 units in our building have received fobs.
We are waiting on Sentry and Bay Country to load the fob numbers into the door controller.
They have had technical problems configuring the system.
The call box is a separate system.
No residents' information has been entered to date.
The system was to be fully operational on July 6.
Re: New building security: Access Control System
Access control has been upgraded better manage entry to our building. The universal code will be eliminated at a future date. All residents will present a fob or electronic key to enter the lobby. Fobs fit on any key chain.
To properly manage access, we need your assistance by providing your contact information and where appropriate, your tenants’ information.
The system is composed of two components: The fob readers for regular residents and the call box for visitors.
Fob System: Each unit will be assigned two fobs. Extra fobs can be purchased for $8.00 each. A maximum of 3 extra per unit may be purchased.
Call box: A visitor can use the call box to contact a resident to open the door. For this to be operational, a name, unit number, and phone number will be required. The call box will call the registered phone number.  After a conversion, the resident can press “9” to open the door. The phone number can be a cell or landline. If a cell phone, the door can be opened from off-site.
Distribution of fobs: Once we have your contact information for entry, a pair of fobs will be assigned to your unit. Need extras? Include a payment of $8.00 each, check only. Fobs will be distributed in the lobby or by pick-up. A more detailed announcement will be made shortly.
If you rent, your tenants will be given the first two fobs. Return of fobs from tenants should be included with your closing checklist. Owners may purchase extras at $8.00 each. Fob’s will not be distributed to tenants unless a copy of the lease has been filed with Sentry Management.
Entering the lobby from the front door:
As a visitor: The visitor will enter the resident’s unit number or search the directory. Follow the instructions to place a phone call to the resident.  The resident’s land line or cell phone will ring. The visitor can introduce him/herself on the embedded telephone. At that time, the resident may elect to press “9” to unlock the door.  If a cell phone is used the door can be opened for a visitor remotely.
Residents may elect not to list Their unit number or name.
As a resident, i.e., tenant or owner: Present the fob to the black rectangle on the call box. You will hear a beep. After a 3-second time delay, the door will unlock. After the delay, the handicap button will also be enabled.
There will be no general access codes except for emergency services. Regular delivery services will be given a fob. This includes UPS, USPS, and others.
As always exiting is by motion sensor or by pressing the exit button on the wall.
Entering the Lobby from the Garage: The current keypad lock will remain in place. It will function as before. You may also present your fob which will open the door.
Lost fob? Keep you fob on your regular keychain. If you do happen to lose it, call Sentry immediately to de-activate it. If you find it, it can be re-activated. The door controller records all fob transactions. If a fob has been de-activated, the door won’t open, but the attempt will be recorded.
Adjustment to change: For the next few weeks, the current code entry will remain. Once fobs have been distributed and activated, we will transition to fob and call box operation only.  Elevator and blog site notices will be posted at the time.
New Security System to be installed
900 Marshy Cove Condominium Association
All residents at 900 Marshy Cove
Recently our front door entry call box failed after 11 years of service.
The replacement plan is as follows:
~~Install a temporary keypad to secure the front door.
~~Install a FOB electronic key system to secure both lobby entrances.
The new system will include a call box for visitors and a FOB reader at each lobby door,
The system will create a record each time a fob is used to enter the building.
Owners, tenants, and visitors will no longer use the "code" to enter.  A universal code will not be available. Special codes will be assigned to regular delivery service people like the USPS, UPS, and Fed Express.
Visitors will use the call box. The box will call the resident, the resident can then release the door from their phone.  If a cell phone is used, the resident need not be on the premises.
If a FOB is lost or stolen, the fob can be deactivated.  A new FOB can be assigned to the unit owner.
There will always be some special situations that will require workarounds, so, a little patience may be required.
Temporary Keypad: (installed 5/3)
To enter the front door lobby, two codes will work.
The keypad requires a four digit number plus the “Star Key”
See notice at the front door for the codes.
If you still have difficulty, call the resident that you are visiting or Sentry Management.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Long-term replacement:
A new access system is on order. The system will allow access by the presentation of a FOB.
All FOB’s will be registered. If a FOB is lost, it can be de-activated.
The system will also include a call box for visitor access.
Each unit will be assigned two FOBs. Extra FOBs can be purchased. ($8.00 each)
We expect the system to be installed before May 31.
We expect to distribute FOB’s before it is operational. At that time will collect contact information.

What is a FOB?
It is a token that fits on your keychain: an electronic key.
An electronic chip inside activates the reader and unlocks the door.

Deep Harbour: Gates Operational

All Gates at Deep Harbour have been tested and now conform to the current safety standards.
The new motor operators are commercial grade and should prove to be more reliable.
Many have welcomed our return to a genuinely Gated Community.

Remote transmitters
Your remote transmitter, aka clicker, should work if it worked previously.
If not, move closer to the gate. The antenna range has been reduced for safety.
This requires vehicles to stop before passing through.
Another benefit is the elimination of the double opening of gates at the Trenton Street Circle.

Given the amount of time that has passed, your batteries may need to be replaced.
Batteries can be purchased at any hardware store or electronics store.

Keypad Code Entry
When entering the code, take your time. Press the keys in a deliberate way.
Common errors include not pressing the (pound) # key first.
Some times the (star)* key is pressed instead of the # key.

If an incorrect key pattern is used, wait for the unit to reset.
Entering the correct code too quickly puts the box into a funk.

Best practice
Remote transmitters are the best way to enter.
If it is raining or dark, it is nice to open the gate without rolling down your window.
Call Sentry if you would like to purchase a remote.  (410) 221-0398
email : cambridge@sentrymgt.com

More repairs
The keypads , LCD display, and keypad lights will be serviced next.

Trenton Street Gates Operational

As of 3:00PM today, January 16, the Trenton Street gates are fully operational.

Yes, the gate code is the same.

Yes, your remotes will work as always.
You may need to get closer to the gate for the remote to work.
This feature compels vehicles to come to a full stop before proceeding.

Gates and Streets: NEW SIGNS.

Deep Harbour Gates and Traffic Control

New Traffic Signs:
15-mph speed limit, stop signs, and "no thru traffic" signs have been installed. Additionally, we have plans to install pedestrian crosswalks near the pool area.

Enforcement:
The Cambridge Police Department has agreed to initiate traffic monitoring for speeding, stop sign violations, and any other vehicular operation that puts pedestrians at risk.

Residents and visitors are reminded that MD Vehicle Laws state...
Depending on the circumstances, speeding could lead to a “reckless driving” conviction.
Maryland defines reckless driving as operating a vehicle “in wanton or willful disregard
for the safety of persons or property” or in a manner that indicates such a disregard.
A standard first offense carries up to $1,000 in fines. (Md. Code Ann., Transp. § 21-901.1 (2017).)

Gate Repairs:
Hancock Gate and Fence Company has been contracted to repair the gates.  Hancock will begin work on repairing the gates within the next three weeks.  The Trenton Street gates will be the first gates addressed and they will be closed while work is in progress.

        The DHMA BOD will publish additional updates to keep the residents informed of safety initiatives and repairs.

Out of the darkness and into the light

To all residents at Deep Harbour,

It is my distinct pleasure to announce all street lights in Deep Harbour are working. Coulbourn Electric just finished replacing the last of the burned out bulbs this morning. They installed a total of 33 new bulbs. That leaves us a stock of 17 for future use. There may be a few of the original LED bulbs left in the community but there can’t be many. None of the previously replaced bulbs have burned out to my knowledge.

From this point forward if anyone sees a street light not lit, please let me know. I keep a pretty close eye on them when walking the dogs but I don’t always see them all.

Cheers!  Andy
