DOCO Goes Purple: “Awareness Starts at Home”
Dorchester County is going purple this September to bring awareness to the dangers of substance abuse and to encourage positive decision making to navigate life’s challenges. DOCO Goes Purple’s campaign “Awareness Starts at Home” reminds us that home is the heart of our community, and that the community where we live, work, and where we play is home to us all. To join in support of this initiative, members of our community are encouraged during the month of September to take their homes, their businesses, their churches, and their schools purple with lights, banners, flowers - anything purple goes! Of course, to many of us in Dorchester County one of the places we call home is on the water, and on Friday, September 28th at dusk DOCO Goes Purple will host a Purple Lighted Boat Parade in the Cambridge Creek. To participate in the parade boaters are asked to pre-register at http://bit.ly/2w0FNRD
or go to dorchestergoespurple.org and click on the parade link. Once registered, you will be contacted with further details. And everyone with a boat, a dock, a home or a business on the waterfront is encouraged to light up with purple that night or every night in September as part of this initiative!
